Frequently Asked Questions
April at Lake Atitlán graces us with both sunshine and occasional rain. Pack light layers and versatile clothing to embrace all conditions. For our nature excursions, bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Essentials include: Comfortable clothes for yoga, ceremony, and relaxation; a warm layer or shawl for cool evenings and mornings; a lightweight rain jacket or poncho; supportive shoes for hiking steep terrain; sandals or slip-ons for downtime; a swimsuit for the lake; personal care items and toiletries; a journal, reusable water bottle, and deet-free insect repellent; and one small sacred item to add to our collective altar (a crystal, oracle card, or any object that holds meaning for you).
Absolutely! All water at the retreat center is clean and filtered, ensuring your safety and well-being.
In April you can expect warm and pleasant day-time temperatures ranging from 70-mid 80s. Because of the altitude, temperatures drop in the evenings and early mornings, so you'll want to pack a sweater or light jacket for these cooler periods.
Plan to arrive into Guatemala City (La Aurora) International airport on or before April 13th.
We recommend arriving a day earlier to take your time with the travel to the retreat center, adjust to time differences, and get settled. A great place to stay after arrival is Antigua (can take a bus/shuttle from Guatemala City to Antigua, a 1-2 hour transit time).
We will arrange a shuttle to pick up the group on the arrival day. If you choose to arrive early, please ensure you have ample travel time to reach Jaibalito dock before 4 pm. You will take a shuttle to Panajachel, Lake Atitlán, and from there, a boat to Jaibalito. After registration, we will provide more information about travel options to and from the locations and are available to assist you with arrangements upon request.
There are a variety of sleeping arrangements to choose from - please see our "accommodations page” for a detailed view of the room options. There are both single and shared accommodations, and they can be booked with a partner or friend if you would like. All rooms, with the exception of the glamping tent are for an additional charge.
